Kiitos!
thank you!
At what level of learning this technique is being taught please, madam?
Спасибо вам!
when i was an intermediate beginner i had a hard time playing in tune and i didn't know how to fix it, and my teacher i guess didn't know how to help. from a chance recording i realized i didn't sing in tune either! i thought i can't have that; i'm not tone deaf, in fact i have a good ear. so i went about figuring out how to sing in tune which led basically to learning to listen. that transferred to playing in tune and let me take advantage of my hearing which is actually pretty superb on a good day...
Superb 👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much for sharing. ❤ It´s all gold for me. Thanks again.
It was helpful.
Thanks for the useful interview to "old guy" (75) whiling away time learning to better play the fiddle/violin. Intonation. Intonation. Intonation.
What is the name of her pitch app?
Yes I have learnt this technique pls also explain the vibrato notes which you are using
Professor Bushkova, this video came just in great timing for me. I am a cellist of 20 years but a "young" violinist :) of only a few months, mostly teaching myself and through videos online. Recently my cello teacher and I have been pretty much starting from the beginning with my cello technique using Pythagorean tuning and I am re-learning my left hand frame while trying to apply the same principles to my violin technique as well. I have been using the same app-we have been tuning to Pythagorean in the key of A, although I'm not very sure what my teacher's reasoning is. Perhaps it's cello-specific? He also said that when we use the app to tune to flats it's inaccurate. I guess I'll have to ask him why during our next lesson. Also we use medium-level precision for the tuning-I think I saw that you did as well? In any case, a lot of your points overlap with what's been swirling in my head and I am very glad to have your professional insight as a reference point! Thank you very much for the lesson.
Юленька, спасибо Вам большое!
Awesome class, very insightful and fun. The tips about finger angl and landing seem especially crucial, together with the bit about knowing it's possible to achieve great intonation in higher position with wider fingers. Thank you for the great lesson.
Bravooooo
I'm an adult beginner and I've learnt so much from your channel, thank you for your generosity!
great video!!!
Thanks, very informative!
We hear you well, thank you ❗
Thank you so much Mrs Bushkova! I have insane intonation problems for the first time, in several Bach partitas! I will definitely go through this video soon, thanks so much!
❤❤❤
Thank you very much for this <3
I grew up in Romania. We started by learning all the natural notes in 1st position, from G to E string. Afterward, we learned F#, other sharps and flats, before starting the positions. I think the idea was of teaching us where the naturals are, and then how sharps and flats modify the naturals. In a way, instead of learning where - let's say - C# is, we learned where the sharp moved the natural C. It seems like a small difference, but it is like the difference between memorizing and assimilating (understanding) how music (violin) works.
That is interesting. It is also the way my Russian teacher introduced the left hand. No tapes, just reliance on ears and finger memory. He sent me to slow Schradiek #1 within weeks. His focus during that very beginning time was on my bow arm, bow hold, tension. But he did warn me against the tuner and even using the piano to check my intonation, we did use the relative tone against the other strings . (Learned the piano and music theory in Romania as a kid though!)
♥
I love your teachings. Could you consider doing some teacher training sessions exclusively for professionals and teachers? We would benefit a lot and then our students would!

Zoria Shikmurzaeva was born in the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, USSR (now Russia) in 1933, and started playing violin at the age of 6. Her teachers were: Vladimir Wulfman, Kayum Baiburov and Abram Il'ich Yampolsky. Zoria was a rapidly rising star in the early 50s. Her first success was the Grand Prix and Gold Medal at the First World Festival (Первый Всемирный Фестиваль, 1953), followed by the prizes in the first Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1958), Queen Elizabeth in Belgium, and Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition in Paris. Unfortunately, the young violinist was placed on the "black list" by a certain powerful person and was not allowed to tour in the West for most of her life. Thus, her stunning playing is virtually unknown in the Western Europe and the United States. She has toured the former USSR extensively and often heard on the national radio within the country. She began teaching in the Moscow conservatory in 1956 and remained a Professor for 40+ years, until October 2008 when she suffered a stroke. She passed away on April 24, 2010, in Moscow.
